Keyguard or keystore is a purpose designed plastic box to which a clear plastic window is fitted in order to retain a key or access control card. A recess enables the window to be removed in an emergency to retrieve the key. An integral electronic alarm sounds immediately any attempt is made to remove the window. The window cannot be re-fitted after removal and no glass parts are used; therefore the keyguard is safe for use in food preparation areas and swimming pools.
